Recipe: Chocolate Chip Cookies

Hey friends! I hope your Decembers are off to great starts! My roommate and I had so much fun putting together this holiday table-scape! We got these darling little plates from the Target Dollar Spot (or Bulls-Eyes playground, I think it's called now?) Which was a really budget-friendly way to incorporate some Christmas-flair to the dishes we already had. I loved the pops of tartan green plaid - a fun way to add some traditional textures to a modern table!

We loved the idea of adding special place settings at either end of the table, at the "captain's chairs," and then mixed the red and white napkins to balance out the colors of the different plates. & then cookies just seemed like the perfect Christmas food accent.

Now, I'm normally a salty snack person, but something about cold weather and Holiday decorations always makes me want to start baking sweets.

Cookies for dinner are definitely Santa approved, yeah?

INGREDIENTS

1 cup butter, softened

1 tsp vanilla

1 egg

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tspsalt

1 package (12 oz. or 2 cups!) semisweet chocolate chips!

STEPS:

1. Preheat oven to 375ºF

2. Mix butter, vanilla & egg with your granulated and brown sugars until its all blended well. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt; at this point your mixture should be pretty dough-y.

3. And for the most important step, mix in chocolate chips.

4. Use a spoon to make little balls of cookie dough and place them on a cookie sheet.

5. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool 1 to 2 minutes prior to removal from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack (if you have one)
