How to Stay Productive This Spring

I was so excited to work with JORD Wood Watches for this post. As always, I only share brands and products that I genuinely love, & I hope you'll love them as well!

I fell in love with these unique watches, and thought it was really cool that they are made with wood! I love that they are modern, but the wood feels really cozy and natural. I feel like this watch reflects my artsy grad student self, but also feels really professional! They have both Mens and Womens styles, so be sure to check them out!

Below are a few of my favorite shots from this week, be sure to scroll all the way down for details on the contest!

It came in this beautiful wood box, which is great for storing your watch and the little care-taking things(wood oil, cloth, extra links if you need to change the size! It also has a little drawer underneath with an anti-humidity pack to help your watch stay looking its best!

Scroll down to find my 5 tips for productivity this spring – I love wearing watches to make sure I'm keeping up with the time, and this one from Jord is a beautiful way to do that! I love that the color and the size of the watch lets it serve as both a functional accessory and a pretty one!

HOW TO BE PRODUCTIVE THIS SPRING:

o   Be On Time. I pretty much live by: Early is On Time, On Time is Late, and Late is Unacceptable – Not that I hold other people to this.. if we’re friends and you’re running late I’m not mad! – but I hate for me to be late. Plus, for me at least, when I’m half an hour early to class I spend that time getting work done, which means I get the less fun tasks done that much sooner! Wearing a watch helps me to make sure I’m on time and on task, and using my early-to-class time to make the most of my day! The sooner I get my to-do list done, the sooner I can call it a night after 5 o’clock.

o   Plan Your Week. One of the things I like to do, on a sheet of paper, a white board, or on the calendar app on my computer, is to plan the things I know I have to get done each week. (i.e. Proctor a test on Monday at 9am, Dinner date on Tuesday at 6pm, Grade Papers Wednesday at Noon, Teach Art on Thursday at 9-10am, Gallery Opening on Friday 6-7pm)

o   Take time to Clean. When I remember to do it – which isn’t as often as it should be – I feel so refreshed when I set a 5-15 minute timer to clean my house. Whether its to unload/load the dishwasher, sweep the floors, or steam my clothes for the next few days, I always feel much more like a thriving adult when things feel organized.

o   Stay Rested. When you don’t get enough sleep, your ability to be productive suffers. Getting enough sleep improves your memory, helps you make better decisions, and keeps your eyelids from being all twitchy(which happens to me when I’m sleep deprived and then I get distracted and stop being productive.)

o   Take Breaks. Take time to do what you love. I schedule time each week that I don’t have to think about my thesis. Whether it’s meeting my gals for brunch, or exploring the local antique shop, I’ve learned I can be the most productive when I know I can look forward to a break at some point.

Thanks so much to JORD Wood watches for partnering on this post. They have both Men's and Women's styles, and one of these beautiful wood watches would make a perfect gift!
