Happy New Year - Goals for 2018
I’ve been spinning around a few goals for 2018 in my head for the last week, but haven’t been able to settle on what my main “idea” for 2018. Last year, I chose “joy” as my word of the year, and then the year went on to be super tough for pretty much everyone I know. Mental health, friendship, and perseverance became the names of the game in 2017, and I think we all learned a lot about each other and ourselves throughout the last 12 months. One of my friends & fellow influencers wrote that in 2018 her people showed up, and I could not agree with that more. My people, my family & friends and coworkers and classmates and teachers and mentors GOT ME THROUGH THIS YEAR. And, as I sat on the couch with two of my best friends over the weekend, drinking wine and laughing until we cried (and may have subsequently had that wine come out of our noses), I realized that this year has made me more grateful than ever for the people in my life.
That being said, this year, one of my goals for 2018 is setting aside more time for my people. For instance, I got to see my favorite roomies THREE times in 2017, I’m shooting for at least 4 this year!
Another goal, work related, is a big goal that I’ve had in my head for the blog for a long time! I don’t want to say too much about it yet, but I will say, that if you have any favorite flea markets, thrift shops, or antique shops, let your girl know! Part of this vision for my little bleu studio is going to require a lot of cool object pickin’ this year. Also, I need to boost my vinyl collection! It’s small, but mighty right now, and I cant wait to grow it some more this year!
I also am setting a goal to post 4 posts a month, so roughly once a week, for the next 12 months. But, I want to write about what YOU want to read! Let me know in the comments, by email, or over on Instagram in the DMs! Whatever feels most comfortable to you!
One last thing, one way that I’m trying to stay goal-oriented and on budget this year is by making a list of home things I want to update now! That way I (hopefully) won’t get as caught up in spur of the moment home buys at target… Things like, a modern mirror, a new rug for my living room, a wine rack, and a home for my records are at the top of my list!
