Review: Royal Blue Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

I pretty much always stick with basics when it comes to my makeup. Foundation, powder, brown eye shadows, black eye liner, black mascara and then usually some kind of natural looking lip balm. So I was both excited and nervous when I found out I was chosen to receive a free sample of Maybelline's Great Lash Mascara in Royal Blue to review. 

This product goes on really easily, and I didn't have trouble with clumping or anything. I really liked how easy it was to apply to my lashes. The pigment of this mascara is also really impressive. It's blue. Really blue. I felt pretty awesome but also really out of my comfort zone sporting such an intense non-neutral, so I was glad I decided to test it out during an evening at home. While I don't think this is a shade I'm going to use daily, or even frequently, I think it's a great shade for special occasions! I'm planning on rocking it next weekend when my friends come to town for Cinco de Mayo, hoping for bravery in numbers!

Love this shade of blue! 

While I probably won't be purchasing this particular shade again in the near future, I definitely like the way that the product applied to my lashes, so I can definitely see myself puchasing it in a black or brown shade, something a bit more subtle!
