Weekend Update
Hi guys!! I hope you've all had great weeks!! I'm so excited for this weekend, because i've blocked the whole weekend off to rest. I feel like for the last.... while I've been running around and having things to check off my list, and places I needed to be, and this weekend is the first one where I can take a couple days and recharge. I'll be taking the weekend to hibernate a little bit, drink tea, do some yoga, and hopefully catch up on some netflix :) At some point I may also move my couch back into my living room, but for now, I really enjoy having it in my dining room(or, my Little Bleu Studio command center, as I sometimes call it) by the giant window where I feel like i'm in a jungle! Check out that story, here. So grab a cup of coffee (or tea!) and lets get caught up on this week!
1. Weekly Mantra
"She remembered who she was, then the game changed."
2. Favorite Phone App
I've been using the She Reads Truth app every day this week! Especially during breaks or in between projects, I love how convenient it is!
3. Next Book On My Reading List
Uninvited by Lisa TerKeurst – I've heard such great things about this book and I can't wait to get started on it! Have you read it? Want to join me? We could have a Little Bleu Book Club!
4. Pinterest Board of the Week
Maybe it's because I've been running around (like a chicken with my head cut off) for the last few weeks and am exhausted, but this week I have been ALL ABOUT some cozy bedroom pictures this week on Pinterest!! It's also august and i'm getting excited for cold weather and chunky blankets! Either way, check out what i've been pinning lately here!
5. Spotify Artist(s) of the Week
I've had Ray Lamontagne on repeat this week!! Also Anderson East. I blame Criminal Minds. I just watched Season 6 Episode 2 this week (the one with JJ, if you watch the show!) , and this song was at the end of the episode. The episode also featured the runner up for the Weekly Mantra: "This isn't what I want, but I'll take the high road. Maybe it's because I look at everything as a lesson, or because I don't want to walk around angry, or maybe it's because I finally understand. There are things we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go." I think its at least then 10th time i've seen this episode, and it gets me every time. Very grateful for college roommates who introduce me to really great TV shows!
Pit
This one was really hard, because I feel like it's been a really great week! I think I'll say that coming home Monday after being around people for so long was my pit this week, sometimes its hard to get back into the swing of living on my own and not being surrounded by my friends all the time. Especially since the weekend was so much fun...
Peak
I'm going to continue this from the weekly pit, because i'd mentioned how great this weekend was. In undergrad, me and my three roommates lived above three guys that we got to be pretty good friends with, and my roommate eventually started dating one of them and they just got married!!! It was such a beautiful weekend and so much fun to see everyone! I think it was the first time we'd all been in the same place in YEARS. My other roommate is about to have a baby in a few months, so it was so, so, so great to see all of them. Lots of love for those folks.
ICYMI : On the Blog This Week!
I realized I hadn't shared an "About Me" Update in a while, so I added "A Few Facts About Lauren" on Monday!
Since it's move-in week and football season it right around the corner, I shared "Three Things to Do In Tuscaloosa" but it ended up being a little longer than three... Oops!
